Kathy Lynn Dunham, 52, departed this world at 8:45 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2022, at her residence.
She was born on July 30, 1969, in Jerseyville, one of seven children born to the late Royal and Hazel (Gound) Garrison.
A lifelong resident of Jersey County, Kathy attended Jerseyville Schools and was formerly employed as a Manager at Family Dollar in Jerseyville for over 10 years.
She married Douglas Dunham on January 2, 1988, in Fieldon, and they were the proud parents of two children and shared in many good times together throughout their 34 years of marriage.
Kathy was known for her outgoing personality, her vibrant smile, and her ability to make the best of any situation. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed spending time with and creating countless memories with her many friends. With all the many wonderful times she had in her life, nothing compared to the joy and excitement that her grandchildren brought her. She enjoyed making them bags, quilts, baking with them, teaching them how to swim, or simply just holding them in her arms. She was crazy about her grandchildren and the love she had for them was immeasurable.
Surviving are her husband, Doug Dunham; a son, Dustin Dunham; a daughter and son-in-law, Katelyn and Derek Fricker; three grandchildren, Layla Dunham and Amelia and Link Fricker, all of Fieldon; four sisters and their spouses, Debbie Phillips of Jerseyville, Joan and Bob Cope of Neoga, Lori and Kenny Young of Jerseyville and Denise and Scott Douglass of Jerseyville; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Janice Garrison of McClusky; her mother-in-law, Mary Lee Dunham of Fieldon; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Lisa Dunham of Jerseyville and Steven and Sherri Dunham of Fieldon; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Alan Garrison; her father-in-law, Kenneth H. “Kenny” Dunham; as well as two brothers-in-law, Bradley Dunham and Simmeon Phillips.
A Celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at a later date.
Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville has been entrusted with arrangements.
