Cary A. Prather, 50, passed away at 4:08 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Cary was born on Jan. 20, 1971, in Wood River. He worked as an adjuster for Olin Corp. in East Alton. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he served in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
Survivors include his son, Sean (Erin) Prather of Tomball, TX; a granddaughter, Ella Marie Prather, and a grandson Sean Jr. on the way; his brother, Kirk (Stacy) Prather of Godfrey; and his sister, Jennifer (Rob) Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl E. Prather.
Private family services will be held.
