Helga Lewis, 86, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her residence.
Born April 28, 1934 in Dartmuth, Germany, she was the daughter of Alfred and Grete Bernau.
She had worked in the T-500 Unit for the Olin Corporation for 21 years before retiring in 1999.
Surviving are a son, Scott Lewis of Hamel; daughter, Maureen (Michael) Hammon of Worden; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Klaus Bernau and Heinz Bernau both in Germany; three nephews and a great niece all in Germany; her loving fur baby "Bonnie"; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Lloyd Lewis; long time companion, Mr. Herman; granddaughter, Emily Turner; and great granddaughter, Caylee Hammon.
Graveside service and burial will be conducted at 11 am, Saturday, January 23 in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
