Mary A. Atchley, 71, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:18 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at her home. She was born February 10, 1949 in Granite City, a daughter of the late William and Marcella (Batson) Krauskopf. She married Terry R. Atchley on August 5, 1967 in Granite City and he survives. She was a dedicated and loving homemaker and enjoyed working with crafts. She cherished her grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband of 53 years, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Kathy Atchley of Alton, Illinois, Jeffrey and Cristie Atchley of Lindell, Texas and Jacob and Angie Atchley of Wood River; a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Atchley and Anthony Johnson of Elkville, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Eli, Axel, Mikalia, Ethan, Allison and Isaiah; a sister, Janet Williams of Granite City, Illinois; a brother, Michael Krauskopf of Shelbyville, Illinois; a niece, Stacie; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William “Billy” Krauskopf. In celebration of her life, a private memorial visitation and service will be held at Irwin Chapel in Granite City on Monday, November 2, 2020 with Reverend Bill Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
