Brenda Roberts

Brenda Sue Roberts, 71, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 5:51 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.  She was born March 9, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Evelyn Childers.  She married Richard “Craig” Roberts on June 5, 1971 in Granite City and he survives.  She had worked at Brown Shoe Company in St. Louis for several years and had also served as a manager with Little Caesars in Granite City.  Brenda had a love of music, enjoyed singing, loved God and was devoted to her family.  She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.  In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Daleana and Richard Wylde of Granite City; three grandsons, Jared, Shawn and Brendan Wylde of Granite City; other extended family and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Judith White and Evelyn Bates and an infant brother.

In celebration of her life, a private visitation and funeral service will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, October 29, 2020 with Reverend Dan Duff officiating.  Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to a charity of one’s choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.  www.irwinchapel.com
