Keith Cotter, 83 of Golden Eagle, IL, formerly of Granite City passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
Keith was born on December 30, 1935 in Granite City; the son of the late Elbert and Irma (Duncan) Cotter. Keith worked 46 years at Ehrhardt Tool and Machine Company in St. Louis, starting as a tool & die maker and retiring as the president of the company in 2002. Keith enjoyed building and maintaining his clubhouse property in Calhoun County, especially watching the Mississippi River from his deck and was an avid bird watcher and football fan. Keith was proud of his sons and grandchildren and was a great partner to his wife, Vikki.
Keith is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Vikki (Mangracinnio) Cotter; sons, Mark (Jeanne) Cotter of Edwardsville, Jeff (Yvette) Cotter of Granite City; stepdaughter, Tara Knight of Granite City; grandchildren, Michael Cotter, Mallory Cotter, Jacob Cotter, Joseph Cotter, David Knight.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his 1st wife; Karen Lee (Shaver) Cotter; brother, Melvin Gene Cotter.
In celebration of Keith’s life, a memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association or Susan G. Komen cancer research.
