Mary Lou Turner, 83, passed away on Friday April 20, 2018 at Eunice Smith Home in Alton.

She was born on March 20, 1935 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Wilson and Ruby Young Cardwell.

She married Siegle Turner on September 3, 1953. He preceded her in death on July 15, 2000.

Mary Lou was a housewife who enjoyed crocheting and toile painting.  In her earlier years, she worked at Owens Illinois Glass in Alton.

Survivors include three brothers and their wives.  Ralph “Gene” (Shirley) Cardwell of Bethalto, Robert Cardwell of Miami Beach, Florida and Jerry (Debbie) Cardwell of Alton.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Wilson Cardwell Jr. and two sisters, Ann McLain and Maxine Suttles.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am to time of services at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
