Myrna Kay Jones, 79, died at 6:32 a.m. Friday, April 20,2 018 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born January 26, 1939 in McLeansboro, IL, she was the daughter of Vernon and Janice (Pittman) Phipps. She married Ronald “Sam” Jones on December 25, 1957 in Alton. Mrs. Jones worked for Owens Illinois Glass in Alton and later retired from PV-Con Agra as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Her husband preceded her in death on March 17, 2008. Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Beth Jones of Trabuco Canyon, CA, a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Rob Kuithe of Godfrey, five grandchildren, Brittany and Tyler Jones, Riley Kuithe (Rachel), Tate and Sammy Kuithe and one great grandchild, Piper Kuithe, and two sisters, Dee Wright of Granite City and Linda Daum of Las Vegas, Nevada. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Gary and Darrell Phipps. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
