Donna Marshall

JERSEYVILLE -   Donna Joy Marshall, 78, passed away at 4:25 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the JerseyvilleNursing & Rehabilitation Center after several years of declining health. She was born in Cottage Hills, Illinois on Dec. 29, 1939, and was one of two children born to Robert and Doris (Kessinger) Baker.Donna was a beautician for many years, working out of her home for a short time.She also worked at the hairdresser at the Calhoun Care Center, as well as the Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, providing the residents with special treatment.She was a devout Christian, and was very active in area churches.  She enjoyed sewing, crafting, working in her yard, and walking to stay active.  However, her biggest joy were her grandchildren, and every grandchild looked forward to their special day with Grandma, typically around their birthday.She married Fred Myron Marshall on July 22, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church in Brighton, and together they have shared 61 years of marriage.Surviving are her husband, Fred Marshall of Jerseyville; two sons and a daughter in-law, Randy and Marsha Marshall of Jerseyville and Von Marshall of Jerseyville; a daughter in-law, Peggy Marshall of Burns, Tn.; five grandchildren;  and 14 Great Grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Marshall of Dec. 26, 2016; and infant daughter, Rhonda Marshall on Apr. 11, 1961; a granddaughter, Rebecca Ann "Becky" Marshall on Feb. 3, 2012; and a brother, Robert Baker.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.   Rev. Drew Brandt will officiate.She will be laid to rest in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Association.
