David Kenneth Brown passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2018. Dave was born August 14, 1960, in Alton, IL as the second child of Kenny and Helen (McGiffen) Brown.
He graduated from Jerseyville High School in 1978. He followed his grandfather’s footsteps and began working at Principia College, becoming head of the housekeeping department. Later, he became a union plasterer doing fireproofing work. He retired from the Laborers Union in 2006.
On October 21, 1998, he married Cindi (Stoutner) Boomershine. They blended two families into one and family became his focus. He will be remembered as a truly good person: a devoted husband, attentive father, caring son and brother, and loving Pawpaw.
He is survived by his wife, Cindi Brown; children, Jordan (Jamie) Boomershine, Mason (Claire) Boomershine, Lindsey Boomershine, Danielle Brown & fiance Joe Baker, Derrick (Kimmi) Brown; grandchildren, Lane and Zakk Sparks, Brenden and Stevie Boomershine, Ayden Quinn and Sawyer Bell, Landon Brown and Kaelyn Baker, Katie and Cale Boomershine, Waylon and Luke Brown; mother, Helen Brown and sister, Debbie (Dave) Meyer, and brother in-laws and sister in-laws, SuAnne (Jamey) Smith, Doug Stoutner, Kayla McGuire, and Joseph Stoutner; father in-law and mother in-law, Joe and Sharon Stoutner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Brown, brother Steven Brown, and grandson, Jourdan Brown.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church, 500 Cross Ave, Jerseyville. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21,2018 at First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverbend Humane Society.
