Dateline: JerseyvilleMary Lou Hewitt, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 6:05 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Jerseyville Manor. Born May 10, 1936 in Greenfield, IL, she was the daughter of Truman A. and Thelma C. (Werner) Davis. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey. Her greatest joys were her Lord and Savior and her family. Along with serving at her church she was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). She enjoyed bowling and working as a sales associate for Sears. She married Robert L. “Bob” Hewitt on December 24, 2006 in Alton. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2015. Surviving is a daughter, Edith C. Smith and her husband Darrin of Dana Point, CA, a son, Clyde E. Morris and his wife Jennie of Fort Atkinson, WI, five grandchildren, Kristen, Noah, Anna, Jack and Emily, and a brother, Richard R. Davis and his wife Robin of Godfrey. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey. Reverend Daniel Spechard will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
