Marvin Lowe

Wood River |

Marvin Harold Lowe, 88, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2018.

He was born October 22, 1928 in Wood River, the son of Harry and Bernice (Slatin) Lowe.

Marvin served in the Korean War and worked for the Alton Water Company for 40 years.

He was the beloved husband of Dixie (Wilson) Lowe, whom he married on March 18, 1952 and are now together in their heavenly home.

Marvin was a 32nd Degree Mason.  His greatest gift was being a dad and grandpa.  His love, support, generosity, smile and willingness to help others will always be remembered.

He will be deeply missed by his son Bob (Susie) Lowe of Godfrey; daughter, Marilee (Craig) Campbell of Frontenac, MO; a cherished grandpa of, Christy, Mitch and Nikki; and loving uncle, cousin; friend and neighbor.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill, Bob, Kenny and Elbert Lowe; and three sisters, Pauline McDonough, Frances Graziana and Nadine Klunk.

A special thank you to all the hospice and nursing home staff who took suck loving care of him.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.  Pastor Steve Friese will officiate.

Private burial will be in Woodland Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children in St. Louis.
