Dolores “Dodie” Jean Roberts, 87, died at 12:20 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Eunice C. Smith Nursing Home. She was born April 12, 1930 in St. Louis, the daughter of Lester and Nellie (Corwin) Kropp. She was a personal banker at Wedge Bank in Alton for many years. Dodie was a past president of the Godfrey Woman’s Club, an avid Alton High School booster, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s athletic activities. She was a member of 12th Street Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. On June 18, 1949 she married Elmer Roberts and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy Killam(Karl) of Lawrence, KS and Janis Meyers (Robert) of Chesterfield, MO, four grandchildren, Sarah Schmitt (Peter) of Lawrence, KS, Karla Letourneau (Jacob) of Eudora, KS, Derek Meyers (Sharon) of Ballwin, MO and Mackenzie Brown (Samuel) of Chesterfield, Mo, and seven great grandchildren, Liam, Isla, Emerson, Capelli, Brynlee, Sullivan and Augustus. Funeral services will be private at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be a Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
