Norma Tarrant

Norma Fay Tarrant, 86, passed away 5:20 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center.

Born in Wood River on March 13, 1931, she was the daughter of Roy E. Brown and Irma F. (Unverzagt) Gross.

Norma enjoyed life and people, she worked as a Corporate Secretary for Pantara's Pizza for many years and was a bartender at Phil's Tavern in Wood River before moving to Tarpon Springs, FL in 1994. There, she worked as a Medical Records Clerk until retiring in 2009.  She moved back to the Wood River area in 2013.

She enjoyed watching "Blue Bloods" and "Swamp People" always willing to fill you in on the latest story line. She  kept up on all the gossip in her reading of the 'Enquirer' and other informative tabloids.  She had a 'green thumb' when it came to plants, enjoyed cooking, oil painting and ceramics and dancing the jitterbug with her daughters. Her biggest joy came from her children and grandchildren, traveling and experiencing all that life offered.

Surviving are a son, Gary (Cindy) McEuen of Tampa, FL; daughters, Linda (Mike) Moore of Kyle, TX, Monica Perkinson of East Alton, Tamara Tarrant Smith of Tarpon Springs, FL; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Alvin Gross; brother, Floyd E. Brown; and sister, Dottie Errandi.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 22 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.

Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
