Anne Kathleen (Lageman) Rice, 82, passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Helia Healthcare in Benton, IL. She was born June 24, 1935 in Alton the daughter of Irvin and Nellie (Saunders) Lageman. She married Robert W. Rice on January 1, 1953 and he survives. After knowing each other only one week, they eloped to Pocahontas, Arkansas and just recently celebrated 64 years of marriage. Anne attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Benton, IL and three years ago put her faith and trust in Jesus Christ. She was a cafeteria worker with Aramark Food Services at West Middle School for 17 years. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Julie(David) Orr of Plant City, FL, Lori(Floyd) Cairns of Thompsonville, IL and Traci(John) Hobbs of Bennington, NE, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one sister, Jane Hartley (George) of Royal Lakes, IL and a special niece and nephew. Anne was preceded in death by her parents and one great grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Upper Alton Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to come directly to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Immanuel Baptist Church (Building Fund) of Benton, IL.
