Lois Andrews

Lois Elaine (Whitlock) Andrews, 68, died unexpectedly at 7:55 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the emergency room at Holy Family Hospital in Greenville, Illinois.She was born in Carrollton on April 15, 1949, one of two daughters born to Ralph and Virginia (Lemon) Whitlock.She attended Kane Grade School, and Jerseyville public schools, graduating in 1967 from Jersey Community High School.Lois was an independent and hard working individual, and may times would be working two jobs to ensure that the needs of her children were provided.  For many years she worked as an agent/broker for Paul Miller Insurance Agency in Jerseyville, later becoming an agent for AFLAC Insurance as well.   Many evenings were spent at the 518 South Restaurant where she served as a waitress, hostess and bartender, or wherever needed.She married Martin Andrews on the front porch of the stately 518 Restaurant in Jerseyville on May 27, 1995, and together they have shared nearly 24 years of marriage.Surviving are her husband, Martin Andrews of Jerseyville; her three children, Michael Scheffel of Dixon, Mo., Christine Sides of Caseyville, and James Scheffel of Collinsville; and a sister and brother in-law, Judith and Darrell Runyon of Jacksonville.Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.   Rev. Chuck Keene will officiate.Private burial will take place at a later date at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Eldred.Memorials may be given to Toys for Tots, in care of the funeral home.
