Cathryn H. Caires, 91, passed at 10:25 pm Sunday January 21, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL
She was born on November 2, 1926 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of Emil P. & Edna (Fleischmann) Grohnke.
Cathryn married Alfred Caires on June 4, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alton and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2004.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alton where she was a member of their Women’s Association, and enjoyed be a greeter, providing Alter service and deliver Meals on Wheels. She also worked for Owen’s Illinois Glass Manufacturing.
Cathryn is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Davie & Karen Caires of Glen Carbon; a daughter, Barbara Caires, of Dallas, TX; three granddaughters and their spouse, Laurie & Steve Fumarolo of Hoffmann Estates, Mary Beth & Thomas Flannery of St. John, MO, and Jennifer Caires of Edwardsville; one great grandson, Thomas John Flannery Jr.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of Funeral Service at 11 am Saturday at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Pastor John Jaffrey officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey.
