Helen L. Thompson, age 94 died at 5:46 PM on Friday, January 12, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton. She was born in Jersey County on November 26, 1923 the daughter of the late John and Eva (Downs) Campion. Helen is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Godfrey. On November 6, 1940 she married Truman B. Thompson in Elsberry, MO and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2003.
Surviving are one son; Ralph Thompson (Diana) of South Roxana, eleven grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and one daughter in law, Vicky Thompson of New Boston, MI.
She was preceded in death by two sons; Truman and Richard Thompson, two great granddaughters, Megan Flatt and Gwendolyn Thompson, two brothers; John and Charles Campion, and five sisters; Edith Wheeler, Florence Williams, Ruth Gray, Julia Owen and Mary Owen.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 with Pastor Tom Olney officiating.
