Mary Halstenberg

Mary Lou Halstenberg, born May 26, 1924, went home with her Lord, December 29, 2017.A life-long resident of Alton, she was the daughter of Bill and Lou Halstenberg. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Alton for many years until it closed. She presently was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church of Godfrey. She worked for the Wedge Bank of Alton for 52 years until she retired. Mary Lou loved taking rides, site seeing, and going to different places to eat. Mary Lou was a kind and caring person and had a great sense of humor. She will be sadly missed.She is survived by her cousins, Dr. John and Martha Beard and Family of Texas, and Anna Priest and Family, also of Texas.Visitation will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 am at the Rose Lawn Memory Gardens chapel with Pastor Kenneth Tegtmeier officiating.Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton will be  in charge of arrangements.Online Condolences may be made at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
