Byron Neese

Byron B. Neese age 92, of Godfrey, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017, 1:20 a.m. atthe Eunice Smith Home in Alton.  He was born June 11, 1925 in Nebo, and was the son of the late Elza K. and Lola L. (nee: Killabrew) Neese.  He married Priscella M. Eichorn on June 8, 1946 and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2004.  He proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. Prior to retiring , he was employed many years as an Instrument Technician at Clark Oil and also enjoyed his sideline business repairing televisions.  He  was a member of IBEW Local #649, was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing,  and spending winter months in Thonotosassa, Florida. Survivors include his children;Donna (Bob) Burris of Godfrey,  Jean (Ron) Pruiett of Greenfield,  Bud (Teresa) Neese of Brighton, and Tom (Chris) Neese of Wood River,a sister; Bea Weaver of Godfrey, a brother; Gary (Carolyn) Neese of Godfrey,9 grandchildren; Pam Peraz, Christy Huff, Valerie Garner, Brian Pruiett, John Grant,Byron E. Neese, Melissa Gustafson, Ashley Neese and Danielle Morris.Several Great-Grandchildren, other extended family and many friends.  In addition to his parents, and his beloved wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother;Elza K. Neese, Jr.  Visitation will be at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton on Wednesday, January 3, 2018,8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. and thence will proceed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton for aMass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.  An on-line guestbook may be found at www.staten-fine.com.
