Jeana Hutchinson, 79, died peacefully and surrounded in love by her family on Saturday, December 30, 2017.

Lonjeana Jane Gunn was born on October 23, 1938 in Rockford, IL the daughter of the late Marvin and Frances (Wilmarth) Gunn. On November 12, 1988 she married Thomas Hutchinson and began a wonderful chapter in her life. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2007.

Surviving are 5 children, Elizabeth Boyer (Brian) of Machesney Park, IL, Vincent Lukowski of Hannibal, MO, Jennifer McClintock (James) of Golden, IL, Marian Taylor (Scott) of O'Fallon, MO, and Joanne Lammert (Scott) of Wentzville, MO; 4 Step-children, Cathy Whittlesey (Richard) of Windsor, CO, Gail Clarkson (Kent) of Jerseyville, IL, Pam Bishop (Matt) of Bettendorf, IA, and Susie Moore (Dave) of Brighton IL; 8 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 9 step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Tom Gunn (Sandy) of Fresno, CA and George “Gerry” Gunn (Margaret) of Landum, SC; and many “favorite” nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jeana was a registered nurse for over 30 years working in Peoria, IL, Rockford, IL, Chicago, IL, Oklahoma City, OK, and Hannibal, MO. She organized the Lamaze and Hospice programs in Hannibal, MO. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey, active in Godfrey Women's Club and PEO, served on the boards of St. Anthony's Hospital and Riverbend Head Start. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, travel, a good card game; being a mother, Granny, and GiGi, and especially spending time with her family and friends. Jeana leaves a legacy of hard work, service to others, contagious laughter, countless friendships, love of family, and boundless faith.

Visitation will be from 3pm-6:45pm followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 7pm on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steven Janoski and Deacon William Kessler will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2pm on Friday, January 5 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Byron, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may support Beth Haven Nursing Home, Hannibal MO, Sigma Phi Epsilon Kirksville Chapter, Kirksville MO, St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Godfrey IL, St. Anthony's Hospice, Alton IL, Riverbend Head Start, Alton IL.
