Benny R. Bedwell, Sr., 60, passed away at 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at Integrity Healthcare of Wood River.
Born Aug. 29, 1957 in Wood River, he was a son of Leo and Ruby Evelyn (Bedwell) Robertson.
He retired as a mechanic at MARS rental cars. Benny was a life member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #25 in Alton.
He married Dee Zigler Aug. 15, 1975 in South Roxana. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Melessa (Brad) Herzberg of Rosewood Heights, Benny (Andrea) Bedwell, Jr. of Alton, Delana Bedwell of Missouri, and Devon (Leo) Pride of Rosewood Heights; 14 grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way; two sisters, Tina (Nick) Cummins of Baytown, TX and Colleen (Yogi) Vavra of Palacios, TX; and two brothers, Bobby and Kevin Robertson, both of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Brayden Pride.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 16 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 5 p.m. until services begin at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
