Donald Wayne Stormer Sr., 72, died at 6 a.m.,  Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his home in Delhi under the care of BJC Hospice. He was born on June 5, 1945 in Alton to the late Virgil & Freda (Hanson) Stormer. He grew up in Godfrey and was a 1965 graduate of Alton High School before enlisting with the United States Army. He married the former Linda Hulsey on December 7, 1968 in Alton and together they have been blessed with 48 years of marriage. Shortly after He and Linda were married they moved to Elsah where they resided for 17 years before relocating to Delhi where they have remained ever since. He was employed as a Plumber with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 553 for many years before retiring.Donald was the true definition of an outdoorsman, he was an avid fisherman and hunter and dedicated much of time to raising game birds. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband. Surviving are his wife, Linda Stormer of Delhi; four children, Tammy Stormer of Alton; Joyce and Wayne May of Kane; Sarah Stormer of Dehi and Donald Wayne Stormer Jr. of Delhi; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy & Anthony Vatolli of Brighton and two brothers and sisters-in-law, John & Linda Stormer of Alton and Virgil & JoDell Stormer of Shipman. He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Freda Stormer. Private graveside services were held Wednesday, August 16 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville was in charge of arrangements.
