Clara Mifflin

Clara Miriam Mifflin, age 81, peacefully entered into rest on August 15, 2017, after a courageous battle with Scleroderma.She was born April, 29, 1936, in Johnston City, Illinois, daughter of the late Lowell and Stella (Gower) Barham.She married Ray Mifflin on July 7, 1954, in Metropolis, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1999.Clara was involved with her church, Bethalto United Methodist Church, for many years and made truly wonderful friends. Clara’s incredible strong will, inner strength and unwavering faith were an inspiration to all who knew her.Dear mother of Cindy Mifflin Lyon and Steve (Mary Beth) Mifflin; loving grandmother of Maegan Mifflin, Kristen Mifflin, Tyler Lyon and Travis Lyon; dear sister of Carmen Whitaker; dear aunt and friend to many.A special thank you to her caregiver, Sandy, and her loving neighbors, Cathy and Gary Churchman, who meant so much to Clara and cared for her with such love and devotion.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, with Rev.
