Carol Jean Wimmersberg Talley, 76, passed away 5:12 a.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Robins Manor in Brighton.
Boron on July 6, 1940 in Bellevue, IL, she was the daughter of Arthur Wayne "Bob" Jones and Minnie Mabel (Goeway) Apada.
She had worked as a mental health technician at Alton Mental Health and Rehabilitation Center for 10 years before retiring in 1990.
Carol enjoyed her family, church family, crocheting and volunteering at Community Hope Center.
Surviving are a son, Roger Spears; daughter, Peggy (Mike) Johnson of Edwardsville; five grandchildren, Corry (Hayley) Wilton, Connie (Adam) Waldo, Michael (Stephanie) Johnston, Derek Spears, Jesse (Malkayla) Spears; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Bessie Webster of Michael.
Her parents; two sons, Danny and Ricky Spears; four brothers, Wayne, Percivel, Robert Lee and Leo Jones; and three sisters, Delores Howland, Ione Stauffer and Leone Lemmons Ottwell preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30 at the 1st Assembly of God Church in East Alton, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Timothy Keller will officiate.
Burial will be in Poor Cemetery near Hamburg.
Memorials may be made to the Community Hope Center or 1st Assembly of God Church in East Alton.
