Gertrude J. Francis, 89, passed away 5:10 a.m., Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS.
Born in Wood River on December 29, 1927, she was the daughter of Tony and Mayme (DiPaolo) Militello.
On September 6, 1948 in Wood River, she married Lawrence J. "Larry" Francis. He died July 6, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. David Francis of Hallendale Beach, FL, Dr. Daniel Francis of Miami Beach, FL;
daughter, Gloria Jean (Edgar) Reynolds; four grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Anthony Militello of Houston, TX ; and sister, Virginia Grove of Alton.
Her parents; husband; son, Dr. Joseph Francis; and a grandchild preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11 a.m., Thursday at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River. Father Donal Wolford will officiate.
Burial will be follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
