Darlene S. Bergesch, 78, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at her home in Alton. Born May 23, 1938 in Alton, she was the daughter of John and Rachel (Douglas) Brown. Mrs. Bergesch was a secretary for Riverbend Headstart in Alton. On August 4, 1956 she married Robert E. Bergesch in Alton. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Susan (Randy) McCord of Alton, Sheril (Jeffrey) Corzine of Alton, two sons, Scott Bergesch of Alton and Samuel (Teresa) Bergesch of Alton, 10 grandchildren; JoAnn Snyder, Molly Westbrook, Maggie McCord, Callie Ruyle, Jason Corzine, Nicholas Corzine, Matthew Corzine, Christine Ash, Brian Bergesch, and Samantha Jo Bergesch, seven great grandchildren and a brother, Steve (Donna) Brown of East Alton. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Reno. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
