Norbert L. Gotway Jr., 80, passed away at 8:35 am on Sunday, March 26, 2017.
He was born on July 12, 1936 in Hardin, the son of the late Norbert L. and Johanna (Oberjohann) Gotway.
He married Patricia Susan Robeen on April 28, 1962 in Michael, IL. She survives.
Norbert worked for St. Louis Local 169 as a carpenter before retiring in 1998. He was a Marine and spent his enlistment at Camp Pendleton in San Diego CA. He was a member of St. Anselm’s church in Kampsville, IL.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, he is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Ramona (Mike) Scott of Ft. Edward, NY, Rhonda (Kevin) Clyde of Moab, Utah, Roma (Steve) Wilkin of Edwardsville; three grandchildren, Tiffany Bailey, Logan Wilkin, Aimee Bailey (Phil LaRochelle); a great granddaughter, Inez Toney; two siblings, Rosalind McGuire of Jerseyville and John Gotway of Florida; many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Todd Edward Gotway; a sister, Elizabeth Behnen.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
Mass will be at 10 am on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Anselm’s Church with Fr. Don Roberts as celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Anselm’s Cemetery with full military rites.
Memorials may be made to Veterans Administration Home in Quincy or St. Frances of Assisi General Fund or St. Anselm’s Cemetery.
