Betty Reno

Betty Louise Reno, 84, of South Roxana, Illinois passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Fountain View Manor Memory Care in Granite City.  She was born January 1, 1933 in McLeansboro, Illinois, a daughter of the late William and Alberta (O’Dell) Masterson.  She married Louis S. Reno on March 13, 1952 in Kane, Illinois and he preceded her in death.  She retired in 1983 from Owens-Illinois Glass Works after many years of dedicated service as an inspector.  She was a graduate of Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto and a dedicated and faithful member of the Cottage Hills Baptist Church.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society, was an avid reader and a friend to everyone she ever met.  Betty will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.  She is survived by four beloved sisters and two brothers-in-law, Velda and Jack Taylor of Granite City, Bonnie Robinson of Riverside, California, Judy and Ross Bunting of Hendersonville, North Carolina and Sandra McCarthy of Alton; cherished nieces and nephews, David, Michael, Bradley, Debbie, Lori, Tim, MariBeth and Ryan; other extended family and friends.  In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Viola Hall and a brother, Bill Masterson.  In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Clyde Myers officiating.  Burial will be at Kane Cemetery in Kane, Illinois.  Memorials may be made to the Cottage Hills Baptist Church, 98 Cottage Avenue, Cottage Hills, IL  62018 and may be accepted at the funeral home.  www.irwinchapel.com
