Clara Schneider

Dateline:  Alton, ILClara Edith Schneider, 88, died at 4:35 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  She was born June 9, 1928 in Easton, IL the daughter of Owen L. and Bertha (Mildy) Kemp.  She was a member of North Alton Southern Baptist Church in Alton.  For many years, she was the owner of Grandmothers Kitchen in Grafton, IL.  On October 16, 1945 in Alton she married Paul Schneider Sr. and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2003.Surviving are one daughter; Debra Attebery-Loberg (Dewey) of Brighton, IL, and five sons; Paul Schneider Jr. (Marlene) of St. Charles, MO, Michael Schneider (Lori) of Alhambra, IL, Gerald Schneider (Rebecca) of Mechanicsburg, IL Dennis Schneider of Ferguson, MO and Mark Schneider of Alton, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one brother; Leonard Kemp of Pawnee, IL and two sisters; Dixie McGarvey of Roxana and Margie Miller of Chatam, IL.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 with Reverend Sonny Renken Officiating.  Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.  Memorials may be made to the North Alton Southern Baptist Church.  Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
