Betty G. Rogers, 90, died 2:02 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home. She was born January 9, 1926 in Marion County, IL the daughter of the late Clyde D. and Hazel Garvin. She was a member of Heartland Baptist Church and worked at the soda counter at Kresge’s in Alton, Western Cartridge in East Alton and the Alton Box Board. On December 6, 1947 in Alton she married Charles W. Rogers and he survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Elaine Elliott and her husband Ray of Alton and one son, John Rogers of Alton, three grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 3:00 -7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Jim Grant officiating.
