Margie Mae Meuth, 83, died at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at her home, surrounded by love after a brief illness.She was born in Jerseyville on Aug. 20, 1933, and was one of two children born to Carl & Florence (Cory) Flamm.Margie graduated in 1951 from Jersey Community High School, and held various occupations through the years, beginning at the International Shoe Factory, then serving as a telephone operator in Jerseyville, and at Ropers Plastic.  She retired in 1995 from Shell Oil Company after many years of dedicated service.Sewing was a lifelong passion of hers, and after retirement she became a quilter as well.   She enjoyed just being around people whether it be traveling extensively,excersising at the JCH Wellness Center, or just being around her special group of friends, whom were especially loyal to Margie during her later years.   Above all, however, she treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, anxiously awaiting any family get together, or traveling to one of their homes for those special times spent together.She married Paul Meuth in 1954, and together they were the parents of five children, all of whom survive, Barbara & Bill Dietrich of Quincy, James & Kari Meuth ofBlanchardville, Wi., Karen & John Ryan of Bolingbrook, Patty Martinez of Bloomington, and John & Lori Meuth of Quincy; her grandchildren & their spouses, Erin Williams, Megan & Tyler Crawford, Connor & Dusty Dietrich, Spencer Dietrich, Parker Dietrich, Laurel Meuth, Casey Meuth, Adam & Monica Martinez, Victoria Martinez, Jacob & AmyRainbolt, Jordan Meuth, and Katy Meuth; as well as seven great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a loving companion of many years, Donald Gilworth; a brother, Bill Flamm, and a special aunt, Marion Armentrout.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday.  Father William Hembrowwill officiate.She will be laid to rest in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to various charities in which her grandchildren are very active; St. Jude's Hosptial, Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure or Special Olympics of Illinois.
