Melvin L. Plummer, 75, passed away at 5:45 pm Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on January 27, 1941 in Batchtown, the son of the late Harry & Mary A. (Madison) Plummer.
He was formerly married to Mary L. (Huff) Plummer. She passed away in 2010.
Melvin was employed at Olin Corp for 33 years as an adjuster retiring in 1996. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch with his neighbor Jan, gambling in Tunica, MS with his brother Delbert and gardening.
Melvin is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, John & Crystal Plummer of Godfrey and Paul Plummer of Summerville, IL; six grandchildren, Tasha Price, Kyle and Amanda Oliver and Alyssa, Colin, and Devin Plummer; three great grandchildren, Ella, Lillie and Jillian and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Delbert & Trudy Plummer of Jerseyville, Eldon & Holly Plummer of FL and Jerome Plummer of Jerseyville.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm Monday, July 25, 2016 at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin with Rev. Paul D. Frazier.
Burial will follow at Hardin City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a Charity of one’s choice.
