James Edward Klinke, age 84, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at his home.
He was born November 17, 1931, in Edwardsville, the son of John Sylvester and Esteen (Daech) Klinke.
He married Mary Ellen Wiseman on October 2, 1965 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. She survives.
James was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. He was a member of the Operators Engineers Union. James enjoyed bowling and softball.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Chris Klinke (Michelle Major Thompson) of Carlsbad, CA; a daughter, Heather Klinke (Chad Fifer) of Santa Monica, CA; a brother, Bill (Patti) Klinke of Bakersfield, CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6 until the time of the Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Inurnment will be on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 5A’s Animal Shelter.
