Ann M. (Linkogle-Hill) Rintoul of Godfrey passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon July 2, 2016 with the comfort of family at the home of her son John.

Born on August 10, 1934 in Alton to William and Grace (Trump) Linkogle of East Alton, Ann grew up as the middle daughter of a well-known East Alton family. She attended East Alton Schools and graduated from East Alton-Wood River Community High School in 1952.

Ann started her working years Illinois State Bank of East?Alton, where she was locked in the bank vault and was?subsequently a part of a New York City game show?about the episode. She also worked with her sister Jane at Associates Finance. Following those years she was a jewel with East Alton Recreation Department and was adored by young and old alike. She was also employed with Ray Gremli Chevrolet and finally retired from Louisiana Dock Barge Company, as the Executive Secretary to the General Manager. Ann was a loyal employee, who was well respected and admired in all her work environments.

As a beloved fan of Cardinal Baseball, Ann seldom missed a game. She also loved dining at the Cracker Barrel, spending time with family and friends and was loved by everyone who knew her. She devoted her life to her son John, her family and was always willing to be a new-forever friend to all. She will be greatly missed by her family, those who became friends along the way or just for the way she helped to make the world a better place with her smile and kindness every day.

Ann is survived by her sister Jane Majovsky of East Alton, her son John Hill of Godfrey, granddaughters Amanda (Jared) Johnson of East Alton and Brooke Hill of Alton, a great grand-daughter Brianna Johnson, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, her sister Doris (Moore) Norris, her husband Paul Rintoul and brother-in-law Thomas Majovsky.

Ann’s visitation will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 4:30-7:30pm at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where her funeral will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 7, 2016 with Pastor Don Long officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery in Godfrey.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in honor of Ann’s lifetime of kindness and giving, to Godfrey First United Methodist Church, a local animal rescue/shelter, St. Jude’s Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
