Dwight Brown

Dwight M. Brown, 74 of Chesterfield, Illinois, died at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at his home.

He was born to the late Oscar & Helen (Chism) Brown in Chesterfield Township on January 25, 1941.

Dwight married Verna M. (Davis) Brown on September 21, 1961 in Hernando, Mississippi.  She survives and lives in Chesterfield.

Dwight was the Macoupin County Highway Department Resident Engineer.  He also was a dairy farmer.  In his spare time, Dwight enjoyed quail hunting.

Besides his wife, survivors include 1 son and his wife; Gary & Joan Brown of Chesterfield, Illinois, 1 grandson; Lucas Alan Brown of Palmyra; 1 great grandchild; Kayden Alan Brown, 6 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren, 1 sister; Doris Kahle of Carlinville, 1 brother and his wife; Don & Irene Brown of Chesterfield, IL., and numerous nieces and nephews

Preceded in death by his parents and 1 son; Alan Ray Brown

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Grace Baptist Church in Palmyra, Illinois.

Pastor Jim Allen will officiate

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home and Family Services in Carmi, Illinois or to Grace Baptist Church where Dwight was a Deacon.

Following the Memorial Service a luncheon will be served at the Chesterfield Community Center.Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of the arrangements
