Billy Wayne Cox, Sr., went to be with the Lord, December 21, 2015 at 1:39 p.m. at his home with family by his side.
He was born in Alton, IL, son of Otis and Anita (Hooper) Cox,on February 26, 1951.
A devoted family man, he loved taking his sons and grandsons fishing. He loved cars, motorcycles and was a mechanic of many sorts. He had a personal relationship with God and was known to read his bible every day along with watching the show, "Shepherd's Chapel".
He is survived by his brother, Bob Cox; and his children, Billy Cox, Jr. and Amy Wall with their mother, Regina Lyons; David Cox, Shawn (Cot'e) Cox and Ashley (Tony) Cox-Ottwell with their mother, Julie Sewell; also surviving are his grandchildren, Brandon, Kirsten, Ethan, Alexander, Tyson, Liam and Derek; many other family members and friends surviving and missing him as well, including a special niece, Brenda Cox.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Dennis, Harold, Ronnie and Paul; sisters Linda and Deb; and an infant son, Kevin.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held from 4-6 p.m. Monday, January 4 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
