Treva Arlene Scoggins, 82, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born May 5, 1933 in West Whittier, CA, she was the daughter of James Leonard and Syntha Pearl (Young) Grisham. Mrs. Scoggins was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Alton since 1959. On February 14, 1953 she married Harvey R. Scoggins in Bethalto. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Janet Lamparter of Bunker Hill, a son, Noland Scoggins (Mickey) of Piasa, one granddaughter, Rachel Arlene Scoggins of Tucson, AZ, three brothers, James Grisham of Casper, Wyoming, Robert Grisham (Maria) of Cody, Wyoming, and Richard Grisham (Emma) of New Brunsfield, TX, two sisters, Jennie Grisham of Boulder, CO, and Sandra Martin of Maine, and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynne Scoggins, a brother, Harold Grisham, and a sister, Dora Burris. Burial will be at Godfrey Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Alton. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
