Dorothy M. Krebs, 89, died at 2:59 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at her home in Godfrey. Born July 8, 1925 in Old Monroe, MO, she was the daughter of Albert and Hulda (Freese) Rahmeier. On September 10, 1960 she married Reverend Walter H. Krebs in St. Louis, MO. She was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir and as the pastor’s wife volunteered her time in many ways including the Meals on Wheels program. Mrs. Krebs worked as a bank teller in downtown St. Louis and also as a secretary for Friedens Chapel in Bellefontaine Neighbors. Her husband preceded her in death on June 29, 2006. Surviving is a daughter, Ellen Ford of Godfrey, two granddaughters, Allison and Kristin Ford both of Godfrey, a sister-in-law, Adrienne Krebs of Port Orange, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey. Reverend Jerry MeCaskey and Reverend William Groennert will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Augusta Krebs Scholarship Fund at Evangelical United Church of Christ or the radio fund at the church.
