Robert “Bob” G. Hansen, 60 passed away at 2:45 pm Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on December 28, 1950 in Lynwood, CA, the son of Joseph E. and Audrey E. (Reed) Hansen.
He married Marianne R. Bollenbach on June 29, 1973 in Alton, IL. She survives.
Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for Jack Cooper Transport, retiring in 2011. He was a member of Teamsters Union 604 in St. Louis, MO, the American Legion Post 710 of New Douglas and a past member of the Bethalto Knights of Columbus #4688. He enjoyed watching UFC fights, fishing, camping, playing pool, golfing, listening to the jukebox at the tavern, going to the beach with his wife and he loved going to Jamaica. Most of all he enjoyed life and his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and his companion, Ronnie Hansen and Bridget Renner of Valley Park, MO; a daughter and her companion, Jennifer Hansen and Randy Thacker of Sorento; his siblings, Joey Hansen of Portage, IN, Donna and Marion Rabacchi of Auburn, IL, Vicki and Terry Cannedy of Bunker Hill, Kathy and Max Hansen – Ehrat of Vernon, IL, Denny Hansen of Bethalto, Linda and Jeff Ogden of Bethalto and Eddie and Sally Hansen of Godfrey and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bobby Hansen Jr. and a niece, Theresa Cannedy.
Visitation will be from 12 until services at 3 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Charles West officiating.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Children’s International.
