Master Sgt. Larry W. Eason, ISP, Retired, age 68 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Highland, IL.
He was born on Wednesday, January 26, 1955, in E. St. Louis, IL, the son of Floyd and Dixie (nee Stack) Eason.
On Monday, May 26, 1986, he married Patrice C. (nee Robinson) Eason at Belleville, IL, who survives.
He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police.
Larry was born in East St. Louis, IL, and his family moved to Mascoutah, IL while he was in high school. He graduated from Mascoutah High School. He served 4 years with the U.S. Air Force including duty in Thailand. He was an Officer for the O'Fallon Police Department until joining the Illinois State Police, 11/6/78. He was a Master Sgt. with many years on the mid-night shift and also working the "Truck Team". He retired from the ISP in 01/31/06. At his retirement he was Master Sgt. over the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers. He and his family had moved to Highland in the mid-1990's; After his retirement he became Chief of Police in Vandalia, IL, 3/28/07-5/16/13. They lived there from 2006 until 2013, when they moved back to Highland. Larry loved being with his wife and daughter - going to movies, going out to dinner and attending St. Louis Cardinal Baseball games. He was a true St. Louis Blues hockey and Cardinal baseball fan. Reading was a passion of his, he also wrote several novels. With Alyssia, he was always playing card games and board games.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Dan L. Perry, officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
