Harold John Tottleben III, age 55 of Maryville, IL, born September 1, 1967, in E. St. Louis, IL, passed away on January 1, 2023, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.
John graduated from Collinsville High School in 1985. He played football for the Kahoks and with the Collinsville JC Raiders. He attained a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and was the owner/operator of Tottleben Construction Services. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville.
John’s greatest joy was his children. He never missed a sporting event and enjoyed coaching them through Drost Park Khoury League and Good Shepherd Lutheran School. He loved watching sports and enjoyed being involved in the NARFFL Fantasy Football League with his friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
John was generous to many people in his professional and personal life and sponsored many local sports teams. Everyone loved his homemade pasta sauce. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, and friend who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vincent and Verna Furfaro; paternal grandparents, Harold and Hattie Tottleben; and aunt, Marie Hawkins.
Surviving is his loving wife, Wendy (nee Wrigley) Tottleben, whom he married June 27, 1998; beloved children, P.J. and Sophie Tottleben; and parents, Harold John Jr. and Patti (nee Furfaro) Tottleben.
Visitation will be 2 – 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville and 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville.
Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Walther officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Maryville.
