David E. Pruitt, Sr., 73, of Eldred, died on Friday morning Feb. 18, 2022, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.
Born on Feb. 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Otis and Edna Mary (Vancil) Pruitt.
Surviving are his son: David E. Pruitt, Jr. and wife Angela of Eldred, his daughter Jackie Pruitt of Herrin, IL, his loving companion Judy Warix of Eldred, Grandchildren: Nathan Pruitt, Jordan Pruitt, Jody Dwyer, Donny Smelcer, Jr., Haley Smelcer, and Katelyn Smelcer, 12 great-grandchildren, and sisters: Sandy Freand of Jerseyville, Patty Cummings of Delhi, Paula Edwards of MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Jerry Pruitt, Sr.
David worked for Olin at the Western division for many years.
He loved camping and fishing and his 1964 Chevrolet Impala.
There are no services scheduled at this time but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
