Leslie Hobart Cook Jr., 84, died at 7:29 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022, at his home in Godfrey. 

Born July 28, 1937, in Vichy, MO, he was the son of Leslie H. and Helen (Bray) Cook.  He retired from Helms Construction as a heavy equipment mechanic.  Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Eugenia and Chris Wyatt of Godfrey, three grandchildren, Crystal Cook, Nathaniel Wyatt (Andi), and Ryan Wyatt (Kay), and nine great-grandchildren, Alisa, Xavien, Alora, Annabelle, Colton, Kally Anne, Ainsley, Scarlett, and Decklyn. 

Also surviving are two brothers, John and Lynn Cook, and a sister, Vivian Moon. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Cook, three brothers, and two sisters. 

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.  Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.  Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
