George Donald "Don" Gwaltney, 83, passed away at 9:46 am, Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at home with his family by his side.
Born March 31, 1938, in Eldorado, he was the son of George R. and Katie (Greer) Gwaltney.
He had been employed as a carpenter for AMOCO several years before retiring.
On June 16, 1959, in Rosewood Heights, he married Sharon Kay Love. She survives.
Surviving also are sons, Scott (Jamie) Gwaltney of Edwardsville, Brad (Kim) Gwaltney of Wood River; grandchildren, Matthew Gwaltney, Bradley Gwaltney, Jake Gwaltney, Jenna Gwaltney; and great grandchildren, Nora Gwaltney and Maren Gwaltney.
Visitation will be from 3-7 pm, Monday, January 10 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights, where services will be conducted at 10:30 am, Tuesday. Pastor Debra Hoertel, Pastor David Schultz, and Pastor Daryl Fansler will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul United Methodist Church and The Preachers Aide Society and Benefit Fund.
