Viola Loretta Vinyard, 84, formerly of Carrollton died on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.
Born in Carrollton on Oct. 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Viola (Janin) Robinson. She married Thomas E. Vinyard on Dec. 5, 1959, and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2012.
She is survived by one son: Harold Thomas (wife, Eve) Vinyard of Ottawa; one daughter: Kelli Marie (husband, Mark) Camerer of Carrollton; four grandchildren: Emily (husband, Chris) Imber of St. Charles, Olivia (husband, Patrick) Kniery of Normal, Richard (wife, Monica) Barber of Champaign, and Jeffrey (wife, Brooke) Dunham of Carrollton and one brother Charles “Chuck” Robinson of Carrollton. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law: Martha Robinson of Eldred.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters: Rosalee Robinson and Laura (Robinson) Hardwick; and one brother Leroy Robinson.
She worked many years at the Ben Franklin 5 and 10 (later known as J&A Variety), and Pharmacy Plus in Carrollton and will be remembered for her kindness and her love of animals.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. till Noon on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will be held immediately after the visitation and burial will follow the services in Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Eldred.
Due to current conditions, masks are to be worn inside the funeral home.
