Darrell Schofield, 76, of Carrollton died on Sunday evening Dec. 12, 2021, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation in White Hall.
Born in Haypress on July 12, 1945, he was the son of the late Claude Schofield and Nellie (Eby) Schofield Clothier. He married the former Mary Jane Albrecht on Sept. 12, 1964, and she survives. Also surviving are their sons: Tim Schofield of Greenfield and Jeff (Kimberly) Schofield of Green Bay, WI, grandchildren: LeAnn (Jess) Fecht, Jonah, and Josie Schofield, great-grandson: Waylon Knowles, and a sister Delta Phillips of Bethalto.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father: Jim Clothier, two brothers: Donald and Delmar Schofield and a sister Doris Cumby, sister-in-law: Lorraine Schofield, and brother-in-law: Tom Cumby.
Darrell was a graduate of Greenfield High School. He went to work after high school at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis (now Boeing) retiring after 37 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially loved driving a tractor.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. Dec. 18, 2021.
