Riley Nicole Schreck, age 20 of Troy, IL, born February 16, 2001, in Maryville, IL, passed away on September 25, 2021.
Riley graduated from Triad High School in 2019. She was a student at Southwestern Illinois College enrolled in their nursing program and was looking forward to graduating in May of 2022 with her nursing degree. She was employed as a nursing tech at Belleville Memorial Hospital. Since she was 16 years old, she has worked at Cracker Barrel in Troy. She loved to travel with her family, having been to 48 states, and hang out with her friends. She was easygoing, an animal lover, and had a kind and loving heart.
Surviving are her parents, Theron and Amanda (nee Schreck) Ross; two brothers: Brandon and Preston Ross; grandparents, Mike and Tami Schaibly, Ted and Noreen Ross, and Steve Doyel; aunts and uncle: Kristen (Dave) Edge, Jordan Schaibly, Mackenzie Schaibly, Sarah Schaibly, Dustin (Brittany) Doyel and Nathan Doyel.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL. Masks are required to be worn.
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 200 N. Lange, Maryville, IL with Father Rob Johnson celebrant. Burial will be in Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville.
A nursing scholarship is being established at Southwestern Illinois College in memory of Riley. Memorials will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, 62062. Checks should be made payable to SWIC Foundation IMO Riley Schreck.
