Mary “Punkin” Stahlhut, age 67, of Holiday Shores, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. She was born November 15, 1953, in Highland, Illinois, the daughter of the late Jerry & Helen (Bartels) Vieth. Mary is survived by her husband Larry Stahlhut, whom she married May 8, 1993 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Edwardsville. She is also survived by her daughter, Yvette Mitchell of Edwardsville; grandson, Brandon Bradford of Edwardsville; three sisters, Darlene Stahlhut & husband Roy of Holiday Shores, Judy Dorner & husband Doug of Alton, and Janet Schantz of Maryville. She was preceded in death by her brother in law, John Schantz. Mary worked in the food industry in St. Louis for over 32 years, she started right out of high school and kept working there until 2004. After leaving the food industry she went to work at The Bank of Edwardsville in the Trust Department. Mary was a member of the Edwardsville High School Class of 1971.
There will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Carpenter, Illinois, at a later date.
