Charles Glenn Barnes, 96, passed away 2:15 am, Monday, June 4, 2018 at his residence.
Born on April 4, 1922 in Montgomery, MO, he was the son of John Thomas and Edith May (Porter) Barnes.
Glenn had been a member of Teamsters Local #525 and a truck driver for CB&W Transport in South Roxana before retiring.
He married Shirley Ann Sherwin on November 8, 1980 in Wood River. She died August 17, 2017.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn Barnes of Livingston, David Barnes of Mattoon,; step-sons, Edward (Donna) Hubbard of Wood River, Kenneth (Wendy) Hubbard in Texas; daughter, Frances Temple in Wisconsin; step-daughters Nancy Waggener of Alhambra, Debra ((Ronny) Rippey of Pekin, Susan Hubbard of Champaign; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
His parents; wife; brother; and sister preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at 11 am Friday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor David Schulz will officiate.
Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River.
